Verify before you trust.
A security tool should be held to a higher standard than most software. Whatever you install — VibeTect included — follow these habits.
- Download only from vibetect.com. Don’t trust mirrors, ads or links in messages.
- Where a checksum is published, compare it with the file you downloaded before opening it.
- Pay attention to operating-system warnings about unverified developers — don’t click through them out of habit.
- Keep the app updated so you have the latest checks and fixes.
Compute a SHA-256 checksum
shasum -a 256 ~/Downloads/<file-name>Get-FileHash $HOME\Downloads\<file-name> -Algorithm SHA256sha256sum ~/Downloads/<file-name>The output should match the checksum published next to the download, character for character.
